The unexpected $1 item from Bunnings that's flying off shelves: 'I need it in my life'
Bunnings has sent shoppers running over an unexpected new $1 must-have item - with many saying they're already stocking up.
The mini buckets have landed in stores, and customers are already obsessing over them because they are smaller versions of the 10L ($4.49) and 20L ($8.99).
The 600mL tubs could be considered collectables - especially for fans of The Block where the bigger buckets are often featured on the hit renovation series.
The tubs are perfect for basically everything small, whether it's storing knick-knacks, bolts and screws, tools, arts and crafts, plants or even collecting Halloween candy.
The warehouse giant shared a video across its social media platforms, which has been viewed more than 650,000 times.
Many expressed excitement over the miniature item.
'Who knew a mini bucket could be so useful? Love how versatile it is for storage,' one suggested.
'This mini bucket is a simple yet clever solution for everyday storage needs,' another revealed.
'Why do I need to impulsively buy 10 of the minis?' one said.
'I don't know what I need this for but I want it,' another shared.
'I need these! So cute! Imagine all the stuff I could do with them,' one added.
'Why do I suddenly need a mini bucket in my life?' another said, laughing.
One joked: 'Is there a limit to how many one person can buy per transaction? Asking for a friend', to which a Bunnings employee replied, 'We don't have a purchase limit on the mini buckets, but they are only available while stocks last.'
One person explained how handy they will be, saying: 'You will be surprised at how useful, out of everything on earth, a mini bucket is.'
Many shared different ideas on how they would use the buckets.
'Lolly buckets instead of lolly bags for a Bunnings-themed birthday party,' one said.
'OK so I guess the kids are getting a Bunnings bucket of lollies with their Christmas gifts this year,' another suggested.
'I would use it for my storage like craft items, odd items etc,' another shared.
'I bought one for my toddler daughter to "help" me in the garden and she collects rocks and other interesting garden things in her bucket,' one added.
Despite costing just a gold coin, many customers pointed out the mini bucket was missing one thing: the lid.
'Love them! Would be better if Bunnings make lids so we can buy for them too even if purchased separately,' one suggested.
'Lids would be awesome. They would be great for screws in the shed... And coffee, tea and sugar in the kitchen,' another shared.
'Do they come with lids? These would be perfect for my potting mix ingredients,' one revealed.
'If they came with lids, I'd buy so many,' one added.
